Peter Mandelson, the UK ambassador to the US, described Jeffrey Epstein as "my best pal" in a handwritten note included in an alleged birthday book. The handwritten note is interspersed with photographs of Mandelson, Epstein and some of Epstein's properties. The bundle of correspondence was collated by Ghislaine Maxwell for Epstein's 50th birthday. The bundle includes a sexually suggestive letter and drawing that appears to bear Donald Trump's signature; the White House denied the letter's authenticity. The materials were provided to the House Committee on Oversight and Reform. Mandelson has previously said he regrets meeting Epstein and a spokesperson reiterated that regret.
