Built-in soaker tubs, once a staple in bathroom design, are falling out of favor as homeowners seek more space-efficient and modern alternatives. Designer Mitesh Trambadia's bathroom overhaul exemplifies this trend, where he opted to replace a large soaker tub with a larger shower space and sleeker aesthetics. The renovation involved significant demo work and a thoughtful selection of materials, emphasizing the importance of personal style over outdated features. The project highlights how even small changes, like updating hardware, can greatly transform a space without overspending.
Since we were not the original owners, none of it felt personal or our style, which was a major influence in our decision to renovate.
Removing the large soaking tub was necessary as it took up significant space and didn’t align with our vision for a more open bathroom.
The scalloped tiles were a challenge to install due to their delicate nature, leading us to underestimate how many we would need and causing delays.
Updating the hardware is such a budget-friendly way to change the look of the bathroom, making a significant impact without extensive costs.
