Before & After: A $750 Kitchen Makeover Keeps the 2000s Cabinets But Looks SO Good
"I wasn't a fan of the countertops and bare walls behind the sink. And updating the faucet was necessary to gain more space in the sink to do dishes," Sarah says."
""a small cottage kitchen would look like if it were located in Morocco.""
""colors and shapes I felt could warm the kitchen up, but also give it a cleaner, [more] updated feel.""
""both efficient and beautiful.""
Sarah moved into a 1901 apartment in Brooklyn's Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood and found the kitchen dated and inefficient. She disliked the countertops, bare walls behind the sink, and limited sink space caused by the existing faucet. She envisioned a small cottage kitchen with Moroccan influence. Unable to alter cabinetry, she installed peel-and-stick tiles on the walls and backsplash to add visual interest. She selected colors and shapes to warm the space and create a cleaner, more updated look. She replaced the faucet to gain sink space. The renovation cost approximately $750 and resulted in an efficient, beautiful kitchen.
