Living in a pre-furnished apartment in Egypt posed challenges for the author due to dark wood furniture that didn't align with her style. However, she embraced the opportunity to creatively work with the existing pieces. After painting the walls, she experimented with furniture arrangements and successfully created a workspace in the living room by combining a desk, console table, and bookshelves. This innovative setup functioned like a built-in unit without the expense, demonstrating that personalizing a space can be achieved cheaply and effectively.
I decided to just push together a desk, a console, and two bookcases to frankenstein my own 'built-in' together.
This stylish, super-functional setup didn't cost me a thing, and I can't believe how well it works with how we use the space.
