Antiga Casa Pessoa is a beautifully restored apartment building in Lisbon's historic Baixa district, transforming a neglected Pombaline structure into a vibrant living space. This project, led by Maria Eugenia Ocantos and Pedro Ramos alongside architect José Adrião, reflects a deep respect for the history and architecture of the city. Each of its 13 apartments features distinct frescoes and modern comforts, making it an ideal choice for various travelers looking to immerse themselves in the local culture while enjoying the city's artistic heritage.
When original frescoes hidden for decades revealed themselves beneath the surface, rather than alter course, the team leaned in, preserving all they could and building around them.
What they created is less a renovation than a resurrection.
