RAMSA and Haeahn Architecture's first project in South Korea, the Shinsegae Namsan building, is a distinctive 7-story structure in Seoul, uniquely serving as both a corporate training facility for Shinsegae and a cultural amenity for the public. The design focuses on natural light and city views, boasting a flexible ground-floor venue for cultural events. The architecture incorporates curving geometries to harmonize its dual functions and residential scale, making it a vital addition to the neighborhood while emphasizing community accessibility and cultural engagement.
We're exceptionally proud that our first building in Korea is not only for a company that is as renowned as Shinsegae but doubles as a cultural amenity for the people of Seoul.
We devised an architectural response that considers the building's dual-purpose program, its graded site, sun exposures, and views. The use of curving geometries was key to orchestrating all these different components together in a unified whole.
