I thought if anyone was going to win it, as the game went on it was going to be us but coming away from home it always has to be seen as a good point in the Championship, because there's no easy games. We are a team that has been struggling a little bit away from home, so to go and get a point and show that real grit and togetherness again, and resilience, is something to build on.

The 30-year-old Scotland international has penned a deal with the Addicks until the end of the season. He becomes Nathan Jones' second signing of the January transfer window after Ipswich Town defender Harry Clarke joined on a six-month loan. Dykes made 24 appearances for Blues this season but has not scored since September. Altogether, he scored seven goals in 55 games for the club.
However, despite enjoying what was an eye-catching flurry on either side of November's international break, Chris Davies' men have gone crashing back down to earth in a worrying fashion. Last seen putting in a nightmare display as they slumped to a 3-0 drumming away at Sheffield United, Birmingham have collected just one-point from any of their previous four consecutive Championship appearances.
Starting with the hosts, while Birmingham might have only made their Championship return this season, it is no secret that Chris Davies' men have their sights firmly set on mounting a genuine play-off charge this time around. Despite heading into November's international break with a 2-1 loss away at Middlesbrough, the Blues know that they can move within touching distance of the top-six here. Getting November underway with back-to-back 4-0 romps against Millwall and Portsmouth respectively, Birmingham will be dreaming of a repeat performance here.
