Human remains were recovered from rocks near Red Hook Pier on Van Brunt Street in Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon.
The remains of a woman who went missing on a swim off Lovers Point were recovered from a remote Santa Cruz County beach over the weekend, her family confirmed. Erica Fox, 55, vanished during a group swim in Pacific Grove during which a shark was reportedly sighted. Just after noon on Dec. 21, multiple eyewitnesses reported that Fox disappeared from the water off Lovers Point in Pacific Grove.
Officials recovered a body Saturday afternoon off the coast of Davenport in Santa Cruz County, several miles north of a beach where a woman had been reported missing and a shark had been spotted. Around 1 p.m., Cal Fire firefighters used a rope system to recover the body from the beach south of Davenport. The agency posted photos online of the firefighters setting up a rope system to recover the body from the beach to the bluffs.
A body was found Monday morning in the water off Castle Island in South Boston, according to police. Boston police officers were notified around 9:34 a.m. that the Massachusetts Environmental Police had recovered a body in the water off Castle Island, police said. The body was taken by the medical examiner's office for an autopsy and homicide detectives were notified, according to police. Police have not released information about whether they believe the death was suspicious.
Schenectady, NY - A grim discovery was made Sunday afternoon when a body was found floating in the Mohawk River near Rivers Casino, drawing a large law enforcement response. The Schenectady Police Department said a 911 call came in around 1:40 p.m. reporting what appeared to be a body in the water. Officers, joined by the New York State Police, Scotia Fire Department and the Schenectady County Sheriff's Office Marine Patrol, worked together to recover the remains of a deceased male.

Somebody spotted the body near Dock N around 10:14 a.m. and called the authorities. Berkeley Fire Department divers recovered the body, and the Alameda County Sheriff's Office's Coroner's Bureau took custody to perform an autopsy, according to a police spokesperson.
BROOKLYN, NY - A dead body was found floating in Newtown Creek on Thursday, police said. The body was found near Apollo Street in Brooklyn around 12:17 p.m., the FDNY said. The man is believed to be in his 30s, sources told PIX11 News. He was found unresponsive by emergency personnel.
