A youth coach who led Santa Rosa High School cross country and track teams for nearly three decades is facing shocking allegations that he possessed more than 1,000 computer files of child sexual abuse material. Douglas Courtemarche, 78, is charged with one felony count of possessing child porn, according to a Jan. 16 criminal complaint filed by the Sonoma County District Attorney's Office. Courtemarche made his first court appearance on Jan. 22 and was granted pretrial release.
Late last week, Elon Musk's Grok chatbot unleashed a flood of images of women, nude and in very little clothing, both real and imagined, in response to users' public requests on X, formerly Twitter. Mixed in with the generated images of adults were ones of young girls children likewise wearing minimal clothing, according to Grok itself. The U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ) on Tuesday resentenced the former administrator of BreachForums to three years in prison in connection with his role in running the cybercrime forum and possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Conor Brian Fitzpatrick (aka Pompompurin), 22, of Peekskill, New York, pleaded guilty to one count of access device conspiracy, one count of access device solicitation, and one count of possession of child sexual abuse material. Fitzpatrick was initially arrested in March 2023 and pleaded guilty later that July.
