Bardessono Hotel & Spa will be hosting the 5 annual Latke Throwdown, a holiday tradition celebrating delicious latkes and community spirit. Guests will watch top local chefs, including Bardessono's Executive Chef Rick Edge of Lucy Restaurant and Bar, compete in a friendly but fierce latke-making contest, where competitors will have approximately 30 minutes to create the ultimate latke. Guests will have the chance to sample the contenders' creations and witness the crowning of the winner, who will be awarded the coveted Golden Spatula.

The plot heats up when the siblings enter their truck in a competitive cooking show for publicity, only for a contestant to turn up dead, turning the event into a real elimination challenge. With help from their loyal assistant and Beth's best friend Rylie, they follow clues to solve the twisted case before danger strikes closer to home. This blend of mystery and mouthwatering elements keeps pages turning, offering an escapist read filled with banter and surprises.

The Embassy Chef Challenge is set to take place on July 10, featuring over 30 embassies participating in a culinary competition at Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium.

Brancaccio's Food Shop in Windsor Terrace was honored as the best breakfast sandwich spot in New York state by Chowhound, recognized for its whimsical Dr. Seuss-themed "Green Eggs & Ham" sandwich.

The Best Asian and Oriental Chef Award will be determined through a live cook-off, with finalists judged on originality, creativity, and technical skill.
