Chloe Kim has spent more than a decade at the top of her sport, redefining what progression in women's snowboarding looks like. With two Olympic golds and one silver, three World Championship titles, and eight X Games medals, Kim is in a league of her own in halfpipe snowboarding.

My first assignment at the 2016 Summer Olympics was to deliver a package. My second was to find a food mart that sold bottled water. I wasn't working the event, though. My "job" was being the parent of an Olympic athlete. My daughter, Gwen Jorgensen, was set to compete in the women's triathlon, and our family had flown from Wisconsin to Rio de Janeiro to support her.

Four years ago at Beijing 2022, Daniela Maier of Germany and Fanny Smith of Switzerland were the unwilling protagonists of a convoluted medal dispute.
