We are outraged that, despite the community's clear demand to move the Election Day hearing, MDEQ chose to bulldoze through a decision that silenced the very residents most harmed by it. Environmental justice advocates and residents say the approval process steamrolled community voices, pushing to delay the vote arguing it conflicted with Mississippi's primary elections and made it harder for residents to participate.
The bulk of the £200 (10%) saving from a year ago is not real. It's a transfer of bad climate policy costs from bills to taxes. Hiding the problem, not solving it. This means future taxpayers, your children, are now subsidising old wind farms and failed heat pump promotion campaigns, rather than stopping the waste.
Charlotte Friel, director of retail pricing and systems at Ofgem, emphasized that millions of consumers rely on their smart meter for accurate readings and efficient billing, highlighting the importance of addressing faulty installations and connectivity issues.
