Archie Gray joined Spurs in the summer of 2024 from Leeds United for a fee of around £40m, and he has made excellent progress since his arrival. Widely regarded as a generational talent, the 19-year-old made 46 appearances in all competitions last season. Gray has featured 19 times in the Premier League, starting 15 of those matches, while scoring two goals and registering two assists.
Filipe Luis has been sacked as head coach of Flamengo three months after leading them to the Copa Libertadores title and hours after an 8-0 win in the Campeonato Carioca. The former Brazil full-back, who signed a two-year contract extension in December, is widely regarded as one of the best young coaches in world football but his hugely successful 17-month spell at the Rio de Janeiro giants is now over.
The England international had even undergone a medical before a move to Anfield this summer but Palace decided to pull the plug on the transfer in the final moments as manager Oliver Glasner was not keen on selling his captain. The defender was upset after he failed to secure a move to one of the biggest clubs in the world.
