Bomb threat at Donald Trump's Doonbeg hotel hours after son Eric's visit

"Gardaí were alerted to a suspicious package at a premises in West Clare earlier this evening, Wednesday, January 21, 2026," a garda spokesperson told the Irish Independent. "A cordon was put in place around the area and the services of the Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team requested. "The package was subsequently deemed safe, and the cordon has been lifted. "Investigations are ongoing."
