The House passed legislation Thursday reopening the Department of Homeland Security, ending a record 76-day partial shutdown and clearing the way for thousands of federal workers to be paid in May.
Verizon will waive late fees and offer flexible payment arrangements for workers affected by the partial government shutdown. The carrier has made similar offers in the past, like during the COVID-19 pandemic when it gave customers extra mobile data at no additional cost.
What just kind of blows me away, you know, literally, one out of every eight Americans rely on food assistance. And this administration knew these funds were there. They could have said last week we're not going to put people through the mental, emotional, and every other kind of stress..And it's heartbreaking. There's a level of cruelty and, you know, chaos here that it's just unprecedented.
