Preschool is crucial for early brain development and fosters lifelong learning and critical thinking skills through inquiry-based education.
"What surprised me is we are still seeing so many visits to emergency departments associated with very common household cleaning products," Lara McKenzie, Ph.D., stated, emphasizing the ongoing issue despite safety advancements.
Even long after the tell-tale odor of new paint has vanished, traditional paint can off-gas for months, releasing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that have been linked to organ and nervous system damage, cancer, and infertility.
A celestial projector if you want a night-light that is ~out of this world.~ This has a bunch of different colors and comes with a timer, so it will shut off after you or your little one has drifted off to sleep. The little astronaut projector makes great daytime room decor, too.
If you throw away a plastic item today, it'll very likely still be around for decades to come. In fact, some research suggests that certain plastic items could take up to 500 years to decompose. To put that in context, that means that if, say, Henry VIII threw away a plastic coffee pod in Tudor England, it would only just be finished degrading now. He didn't, of course; plastic wasn't used regularly until the 20th century. But you get the point.
One of the most powerful moments in the creative process is seeing an idea transform into something real. For a child, that moment carries even greater weight. It builds confidence, validates imagination, and reinforces the belief that creativity is not limited by age. Chair for Kids, a participatory design project developed by Taekhan Yun, captures this experience by translating children's playful and imperfect drawings into fully functional and usable chairs that children can see, touch, and use every day.
Babies and young children under five are more at risk in cold weather. While outside, the NHS advises that babies and children should wear several layers of clothes to keep warm, including a hat and mittens to stop heat loss. In the car, for safety reasons, you should keep thick jumpers and coats to a minimum, so there is not too much padding between your child and the car seat straps.
Virginia-based Gerber Products Company is voluntarily recalling limited batches of Gerber Arrowroot Biscuits, a cookie-like snack meant for children 10 months or older. On January 26, the baby food and snack producer issued the voluntary recall due to the potential presence of soft plastic and paper pieces that "should not be consumed," the company said this week. The material comes from a supplier of arrowroot flour that initiated its own recall, Gerber said.
This stainless-steel bowl is a game changer! It's incredibly durable, so I know it will last for a long time. The silicone suction base is a fantastic feature it keeps the bowl securely in place on the table, preventing any accidental spills. It's definitely a must-have for anyone with little ones. Highly recommend!
For many American parents, colic and reflux are among the most stressful challenges during the first months of life. Endless crying, discomfort after feedings, arching of the back, spit-up, gas... when a baby is hurting, the entire family feels it. While many factors can contribute to colic and reflux, the choice of baby bottle and nipple plays a much bigger role than most parents realize. Choosing the right baby bottle can greatly influence your baby's feeding experience.
These are awesome! I spent hours with a drill and screwdriver installing push-down locks on cupboards five years ago. I now have another crawling baby and those ones are all broken. I was dreading installing new ones and saw these. They literally go on in seconds, the bracket means it lines up perfectly, and the adhesive is strong! My older kids think the magnet key is super fun.
The first time I used the Snoo, it freaked me out. My wife and I placed our baby into the high-tech bassinet on her fifth day on this earth, praying the machine would help her sleep, and thus aid us in fighting back the hallucinations brought on by new-parent sleep deprivation. We wrapped her in the approved organic cotton swaddle, clipped her into the sleek oval bed and pressed the glowing button on the side.
As a parent myself, I know what I'm mostly looking for when buying another toy is that it'll ACTUALLY keep my kids engaged long enough to bring a sliver of peace to my home (a tough task, to say the least!). From Magna-Tiles and the new Toniebox 2 to colorful sensory tubes and a LeapFrog Touch and Learn eReader, my kids have tried out enough of these items to lead you in the right shopping direction!
