The Washington Capitals didn't have much going for them at five-on-five against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday. At the mid-way point of the game, the Caps were down 4-0, so head coach Spencer Carbery threw his forward lines into the blender. The most notable of Carbery's changes saw Alex Ovechkin split from his usual top-line linemates, Dylan Strome and Anthony Beauvillier, and instead skated with Ivan Miroshnichenko and Connor McMichael.
Sony's 2025 PlayStation Wrap-Up is now available. The recap, which is similar to those from music streaming services, sums up gaming habits from throughout the year. It shows players how many hours they used their PS4 or PS5, what games they played the most, preferred genres, trophy counts and more. These digital cards are shareable on social media, which is kind of the whole point.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 33 in three quarters, and the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Dallas Mavericks 132-111 on Friday night to claim their 14th straight win. Gilgeous-Alexander made 10 of 12 field goals and 11 of 12 free throws to help the Thunder improve to 22-1 overall. He scored at least 20 points for the 95th straight game, the second-longest streak in league history behind Wilt Chamberlain's 126 straight from 1961-63.
Stanford storylines: Stanford plays its final game under interim coach Frank Reich before general manager Andrew Luck makes his first permanent hire. The Cardinal is coming off its best win of the season, 31-10 over Cal. Besides reclaiming The Axe for the first time in five years, that game ensured Stanford wouldn't finish 3-9 for a fifth straight season. Stanford is 4-1 at home but lost 35-20 to the only currently ranked opponent (No. 22 Pittsburgh).
The Lakers star possessed the ball in the backcourt before penetrating to the basket, splitting the defense. As Doncic got to the paint, he gathered the ball and exploded up to the rim for a monstrous two-handed jam over Hornets forward Moussa Diabate before letting go of the rim and letting out a scream. Doncic's teammates couldn't believe the dunk and trolled him in the comments of a photo he posted of the play on Instagram on Tuesday.
But what makes Sunday's win more noteworthy was that this week, for the first time, the Cowboys' defense showed up and made an impact on the game. The much-maligned unit sacked Jayden Daniels twice, the second one ending his day early in the third quarter. They added two more sacks of Marcus Mariota. The second sack of Daniels also forced a fumble, which the defense recovered.
