I first met Diarmuid Ó Tuairisg about 15 years ago when he was working behind the bar in Crowes in Bohermore. He was always someone who was kind, courteous and most definitely a people's person. Over the last few years, Diarmuid was a Garda based in Millstreet in Galway and we would meet each other at many events. He was always friendly and approachable and carried out his duties as a Garda to the highest possible standard.
Gardaà and emergency services responded to a report of a man found unresponsive at a residence on Harbour View Drive in Killybegs. The man, aged in his 60s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body remains at the scene, preserved for forensic examination. The local Coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination will be arranged by the State Pathologist, with results influencing the investigation's direction.
