The missile threat against the U.S. has quietly and significantly grown over the past four decades as U.S. adversaries have added more sophisticated missiles to their arsenals, investing in both the scope of their systems as well as their ability to reach the U.S. homeland, according to experts.
The United States is developing Golden Dome, a $175 billion space-based missile defense to intercept ICBMs, hypersonic vehicles, and adversary arsenals.
"Golden Dome, inspired by Israel's Iron Dome and Reagan's concept of a 'peace shield,' aims to be a successor to the Strategic Defense Initiative, costing billions."
