Anna talks to Jonathan Goldstein, host of the Pushkin podcast Heavyweight, about the show getting a second chance after a long period of uncertainty, and how that time helped some of the stories they had been working on find a proper conclusion. Then we share one of our favorite episodes of Heavyweight, their recent season finale titled " Deborah." At 101 years old, Deborah discovered a box she'd stashed away a lifetime ago.

The first real action came early, with Bujło opening the fight by chopping at Freeman's lead leg. Both spent the opening minutes trading low kicks in a cautious feeling-out process. Freeman did time one of Bujło's kicks with a clean straight and followed it by going high with his signature head kick. He mixed in rear-leg body kicks as well, giving Bujło different looks, but overall both men stayed patient and threw single strikes at a time.

One of a planned three heavyweight fights at UFC Rio (though Usman vs. Walker wound up cancelled) saw Vitor Petrino take on Thomas Petersen. Petrino had started his UFC run at 205 pounds, but after back-to-back losses, moved to heavyweight in his last outing, defeating Austen Lane in his debut in the weight class. Petersen was 2-2 under the UFC banner, and coming off a win over Don'Tale Mayes.

On Friday, promotion officials confirmed a previous report by Club De Las MMA that #6-ranked Waldo Cortes-Acosta (14-2) will face the #10-ranked Ante Delija (26-6) at a UFC Fight Night event on November 1, 2025.
