In an audacious action starting to attract media attention, last month a group of piracy actors called Anna's Archive copied about 86 million music files from Spotify. The intention was to release the hoard on the BitTorrent file-sharing platform. All three of the major labels (UMG, Sony Music Entertainment, and Warner Music Group), along with Spotify, launched the unsurprising lawsuit in September. The presiding judge, Jed . Rakoff, issued an injunction (HERE).

The City of Pasadena and the Rose Bowl Operating Co. filed a preliminary injunction and temporary restraining order Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court seeking to prevent UCLA from leaving the Rose Bowl or terminating its stadium lease until pending litigation against the school is resolved. The filing contends that the plaintiffs would suffer "immediate and irreparable harm if the status quo is not preserved during the pendency of this lawsuit." A hearing has tentatively been scheduled for Wednesday morning.
Immergut's ruling is a permanent injunction against the U.S. Department of Defense and Secretary Pete Hegseth, as well as the Department of Homeland Security and Secretary Kristi Noem, banning them from carrying out recent plans to send troops to Portland. A federal judge has granted Meta-owned WhatsApp's request for a permanent injunction blocking Israeli cyberintelligence company NSO Group from targeting the messaging app's users. At the same time, the judge dramatically reduced the fine that NSO Group must pay to Meta. Earlier this year, a jury decided that the cyberintelligence company would have to pay Meta more than $167 million following a 2019 campaign that targeted more than 1,400 WhatsApp users, including human rights activists and journalists.
Qantas has obtained a court injunction to prevent any person or organisation from publishing the customer information stolen in its recent hack. The airline called the ruling of the NSW Supreme Court an 'important next course of action' but also reiterated that there is still 'no evidence' that any data had been released into the public domain.
