It's the most wonderful time of the year - for film buffs and fashionistas, at least. Awards season is here, and celebs are busy vying for a spot on annual best-dressed lists. Plus, Hollywood's best and brightest have been flocking to Park City, Utah for the Sundance Film Festival, which kicked off on Jan. 22. The festival may not have as flashy of a fashion reputation as New York or LA red carpets, but style stars like Jenna Ortega came to deliver nonetheless. The actress attended the festival to promote her upcoming film, The Gallerist. On Jan. 24, the Wednesday actress stepped out in two preppy corpcore fits, including a designer minidress and monochromatic skirt suit.

Decked out in an ensemble from Bevza's Spring 2026 collection, the Jane the Virgin alum wore a halterneck bodysuit with an asymmetrical plunging neckline and paired it with a structured maxi skirt, one cinched at the waist and flaring out at the hips. If it looks familiar, that's because it mimicked the peplum silhouette that once haunted schools, offices, and clubs in the 2010s. The ubiquitous style became so embedded with millennial fashion that Gen Zers eventually dubbed it the dreaded C-word: cheugy.

The true measure of a fashion icon goes far beyond access to designer wares. After all, a great stylist and near-unlimited budget unlock all sorts of luxury pieces, including the rarest archival designs. What's more impressive, however, is when a style star elevates a brand that's high-street and turns it into high-fashion. One such fashionista is Anne Hathaway, who went viral for wearing a white poplin shirtdress from Gap to attend a luxurious Bulgari event.

On Netflix's Wednesday, Jenna Ortega's titular character is confined by a strict dress code. After all, private schools, even those for "outcasts" like werewolves, vampires, sirens, gorgons, and more, typically require a uniform. And Nevermore Academy's is pretty standard, demographics considered. All enrollees wear a striped skirt suit, which includes a blazer, a matching pleated midi skirt, a sweater vest, a white button-down, and, finally, a necktie. They're preppy monsters.

Tesfaye's film "Hurry Up Tomorrow" serves as a self-indulgent love letter to fans but ultimately showcases his tedious self-regard rather than impactful storytelling.

Ortega didn't just channel any ensemble off recent runways, however, the You alum pulled from the archives, particularly, the 2000 collection designed by then-creative director John Galliano.

I hold so much more pressure and weight in my body than I ever did, and I think it's just kind of the expectation of it all.
