The Friends of the Campbell Library is hosting multiple fundraisers to reach a goal of $250,000 for enhancements to the new Campbell Library, including community and meeting rooms.

"It's not quite what I had in mind entering my eighth decade but it's a new challenge and I'm loving it most of the time, although some days it's exhausting."

"This is going to be really fun. It is bringing families together and engaging with the library," O'Donoghue said. "I hope people get excited about looking up old articles. This contest is a unique and creative way to get people to engage with Oakland."

La Libreria is a lightweight, demountable library designed for the Venice Architecture Biennale, encouraging reading and literacy in a flexible community space.

Some believe the term 'intifada' symbolizes a struggle for rights, while others view it as a direct incitement to violence against Israeli civilians.
