What we can verify is that the city had no knowledge of the dwelling units inside the police station until a routine inspection found them, Millbrae spokesperson Annabelle Acosta said. Unfortunately, one of the doors was not accessible to our staff as the locks had been replaced by the police bureau without city knowledge. Acosta also confirmed that a container of alcohol was found in the station.

Millbrae is set to become the next location of the growing fast-casual Slice House chain by award-winning Bay Area pizzaiolo Tony Gemignani. Slice House by Tony Gemignani will bring craft pizza, fresh pastas, beer, wings, salad and more to a location about a half-block from downtown Millbrae's Broadway. Gemignani is known as the chef behind Tony's Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood as well as a number of other restaurants, and as a 13-time World Pizza Champion.
