The Minnesota Vikings are optimistic about receiver Jalen Nailor's availability for their Week 1 game at the Chicago Bears next Monday night, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Sunday. Nailor injured his left hand Aug. 14 during training camp and has not been seen on the field since. At the time, coach Kevin O'Connell classified Nailor's injury as "week-to-week." Nailor's absence, along with the three-game suspension of receiver Jordan Addison, helped spur the Vikings to acquire receiver Adam Thielen via trade.
The Washington Commanders had a surplus at the wide receiver position entering the cut-down deadline. Adam Peters had some difficult decisions to make, and some prominent veterans were disposed of by the ruthless general manager despite their best efforts over the summer. One of those parting ways with the franchise is K.J. Osborn. The veteran came into the Commanders off the waiver wire late last season after a serious internal injury to Noah Brown that required kidney surgery.
The Minnesota Vikings made a change to their quarterback room Sunday, reaching agreement on a contract with veteran quarterback Carson Wentz and trading quarterback Sam Howell to the Philadelphia Eagles, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Wentz, 32, played his only season for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024, when he served as backup to Patrick Mahomes. Wentz played in two games as a reserve and started the final regular season game against the Denver Broncos
Frictions are building between wide receiver Terry McLaurin and the Washington Commanders. This has done nothing to quash the ever-growing rumors around a potential trade. The Commanders don't want to pay what McLaurin is demanding. Reports suggest he wants a higher average annual salary than D.K. Metcalf, and there is no chance he's going to get it from general manager Adam Peters. Tensions are growing inside the building, and people are starting to ponder whether this relationship is on the verge of a complete breakdown.
"When you're doing what you love to do, you want to honor the game by being great, not in an arrogant way but in a way to show respect and gratitude for all those who came before you."
I was asked by the broadcasting group for the game, 'What about Atlanta made you want to leave Minnesota?' Cousins recalls. 'And I said, 'That question is the wrong question. I didn't want to leave Minnesota.'
