WH Smith buyer seeks help with dozens of shops at risk of closure

Modella Capital seeks restructuring for TG Jones retail chain, risking approximately 80 of its 450 stores following weaker trading performance.

Russell & Bromley faces closure of all 37 stores as Next acquires the brand, risking around 450 jobs and winding down the physical estate.

The renegotiated sale price of WH Smith to Modella Capital is now expected to be up to £40 million, down from the initial forecast of £52 million.
