The MCU's recent crossover features have generally resulted in dangling threads, almost feeling like previews for the next big blockbuster.

Conclave tells a very fun and fictional story of the secretive process by which a pope is replaced, blending elements of political thriller and jury drama.

"This place makes no sense!" one character yells, capturing the sentiment of the audience regarding the confusing and nonsensical plot of 'A Minecraft Movie.'

Horror, not comedy, has been the go-to movie genre in recent years, but "One of Them Days," starring Keke Palmer and SZA, is a good reminder of what we've been missing. This buddy comedy arrives while Los Angeles has been decimated by wildfires, reminding audiences that the communal joys of big-screen comedy suit dark days just as much as light ones.

In this frenetically empty sequel, the most cartoonish performance comes from Jim Carrey, who reprises his role as Doctor Robotnik and transforms every line into extravagant pantomime.
