Sugano signed a one-year, $13MM deal with Baltimore last offseason. He posted a 4.64 ERA across 30 outings. The righty got off to a solid start, putting up a 3.04 ERA through a dozen appearances, before falling off as the season went on. Sugano had an xFIP and a SIERA in the mid-4.00s during that stretch, so regression was coming.
After a handful of decent outings to open his career, the righty was slowed by an arm issue that ended up being an aneurysm in his throwing shoulder. Surgery knocked him out until the final month of the 2021 season. He was hammered for nine earned runs over 12 innings once he returned to the mound. Arihara made it back up with the Rangers the following year, but posted a 9.45 ERA across 20 innings.
Taiwanese right-hander has signed with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks of Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball. It's a three-year deal with incentives worth more than $9.6MM USD. He has thrown 305 innings for the Wei Chuan Dragons, including 114 innings in 2025 with a 2.05 earned run average.
Devanney, 28, was a 15th-round pick by the Brewers back in 2019 who made his big league debut with the Pirates late in the 2025 season after being acquired from the Royals in this summer's Adam Frazier trade. At the time of the deal, Devanney was enjoying something of a breakout season for the Royals' Triple-A affiliate in Omaha. In 69 games, he had slashed .272/.366/.565 with 18 homers and 14 doubles across 288 plate appearances.
Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Kenta Maeda announced on social media that he is going to resume his playing career in Japan for the 2026 season. The right-hander began his professional career with Hiroshima Toyo Carp of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), where he established himself as one of the best pitchers in the country. Maeda went 97-67 with a 2.39 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in 1,509.2 innings across 218 appearances (217 starts) during his stint with Hiroshima.
