Two girls, aged 13 and 14, have been arrested following a violent attack on a Muslim woman in Oshawa, during which her hijab was violently ripped off.

The victim, a Muslim woman, had her hijab ripped off and was kicked repeatedly during the attack. Police say they are looking for three girls between the ages of 11 to 15 and two boys whose ages are unknown.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a call about an assault near Steeplechase Street and Windfields Farm Drive E., according to a police release Monday.

A tragic accident occurred on April 23 in Oshawa, involving a 68-year-old woman who was struck by a school bus while crossing Simcoe Street.
