East Bay loses multiple sushi spots, cafes among January restaurant closures

02.06.26: Coffee Cultures on Park Street in Alameda closed Jan. 31. However, it still offers a mobile coffee cart for special events. Coffee Cultures used to have several locations in San Francisco, but Alameda was home, where owner Jason Michael Paul was raised. Ones Cafe & Bakery, based in Castro Valley, will open a location in this spot; the opening date hasn't been announced yet. Coffee Cultures, 1926 Park St., Alameda.

Peet's Coffee closing 30 Bay Area locations

For anyone who knows a coffee drinker, take away the person's caffeine fix, and there's no telling what might happen. Although the circumstance is not as dire, news is spreading fast that Peet's Coffee is closing or has already closed some of its coffee houses in the Bay Area. As reported in the San Francisco Chronicle, approximately 30 Bay Area locations are closing. One of the Berkeley-born chain's North Bay locations that has already closed is in the Mill Valley at 88 Throckmorton Ave., according to a Google search for the business.
