Liverpool have confirmed they will retire the No.20 shirt in honour of forward Diogo Jota, who died in a car accident alongside his brother, André Silva, last week. Jota wore the No.20 for the duration of his time at Anfield after signing from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2020. The move is designed not only to recognise Jota's contribution on the pitch but also the personal impact he has had on those connected with the football club during his five years on Merseyside.
I'm very happy and very grateful. We're fighting for the Premier League title which we've dreamed of for so long. Personally, it's something I always wanted that is close to being achieved.
