Jeimer Candelario is performing well in Angels spring training and exploring second base as a potential position to increase his roster versatility.
Kazuma Okamoto's posting window closes at 4pm CT on Sunday, and there isn't yet any sense where the Japanese star might sign even as his deadline nears. Such teams as the Cubs, Blue Jays, Red Sox, Angels, Pirates, and Padres have reportedly shown some interest in Okamoto's services, and MLB.com's Mark Feinsand adds the Mariners to this list of clubs "connected to" the chase for the 29-year-old.
It takes a village to replace Divine Deablo, apparently. Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich made that clear on Wednesday in remarks to media, when he said a mix of linebackers and defensive backs will be deployed to fill his role. Part of that is owing to Deablo, a converted safety, having a mix of linebacker and defensive back traits the Falcons coveted this offseason; they don't really have another player ready to roll.
