Simon is seeking to take over a Saks location at the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto, California and a Saks OFF Fifth discount store at an outlet mall in Woodbury, New York.

Now the iconic brand is facing the possible collapse of most of its brick-and-mortar business as a bankruptcy filing looms. The retailer's roughly 180 stores across the United States and Canada could soon be shuttered amid plans for a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing tied to the brand's North American store operations. Eddie Bauer, one of the oldest brands in American outdoor apparel, has a storied history. It's also faced bankruptcy twice before.
LIT Boutique, a women's designer clothing and accessories shop that has been a fixture on Newbury Street for 25 years, has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, signaling a likely end for the longtime retailer. Once a small local chain with four locations across Boston; Portsmouth, New Hampshire; and Newport, Rhode Island, the woman-owned boutique has steadily shrunk and now operates only its original store at 223 Newbury St.
This year has been a rough one for retailers. Business bankruptcies across the country have been on the rise in recent years, according to an analysis from the Administrative Office of the US Courts, and 2025 has seen several prominent retail brands involved. Some retail brands started the year already engaged in the bankruptcy process, while others filed for protection as the months went by.
A B.C. billionaire who spent the summer fighting to move into former Hudson's Bay properties found herself on the losing end of an Ontario Superior Court decision on Friday. Judge Peter Osborne ruled that landlords for the collapsed retailer will not be forced to accept Ruby Liu as a tenant. In his judgment, Osborne said he had significant concerns about Liu's ability to meet the terms of the leases she wanted.
Mostly, I remember the fluffy pens.
