Real Madrid defender Trent Alexander-Arnold will today undergo further testing on the thigh injury that forced him off against Athletic Bilbao last night. The full-back limped out of the 3-0 win at San Mames after 53 minutes, seemingly injuring himself in the act of making a long pass to Kylian Mbappe. It is another blow for Alexander-Arnold, who was midway through his best performance in a Madrid shirt before the injury struck.
However, the deal is complicated because Barça would first need to secure the departure of a big-name player. In this regard, ESPN reported on Tuesday that Chelsea have made an approach to gauge the availability of Fermín López, while Barça are also open to listening to offers for Marc Casadó, Ronald Araújo and Andreas Christensen in an attempt to comply with LaLiga's financial fair play rules.
