The robot could be seen performing dance moves and martial arts kicks on a sports field. However, it all began to fall apart as students ran onto the pitch to perform a synchronised dance routine with the bot.
Video shows the robot dancing wildly, knocking items off a table as Haidilao Hot Pot employees step in trying to restrain it. ABC7's media partners at the Mercury News report that employees said human error was to blame for what happened. Apparently, an employee accidentally ordered up the high-energy act.
However, at some point during the event, one of the robots was presented on stage and began to walk like someone who had had one too many drinks. Just a few moments later, the bot crashed forward onto the floor, leaving broken bits of plastic and metal on the ground. After the fall, someone tried to use a black curtain to cover up what had happened, but the curtain was twisted up, and it took far too long to hide the situation.
