The Washington Wizards have proven this offseason that they're willing to be aggressive when it comes to bringing in new talent that could get them one step closer to their ultimate goal. Whether it's been letting the cards unfold in the NBA Draft, acquiring veteran talent or taking a swing on potential, general manager Will Dawkins is devoted to putting the Wizards in position to succeed.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are not the same team that had the likes of elite stars Jaromir Jagr and Mario Lemieux. They do not have the goaltending of Tom Barrasso or the offensive defenseman like Paul Coffey. They are retooling on the fly in hopes of making the playoffs once again. The Cardinals are expected to designate utility man Garrett Hampson for assignment in a series of roster moves slated to become official tomorrow, according to a report from Katie Woo of The Athletic. Hampson's active roster spot will go to Alec Burleson, who is slated to be activated from the injured list tomorrow. Hampson's 40-man roster spot will go to left-hander Nick Raquet, who will have his contract selected to the major league roster tomorrow.
September 6 - Outfielder Dominic Fletcher and right-handed reliever Dan Altavilla were added to the White Sox's roster on Friday, and they contributed to Chicago's 7-5 road win over the Detroit Tigers. Fletcher, 28, had his contract purchased from Triple-A Charlotte. In his first major league game of the season, he doubled twice and scored twice while playing in both center field and right field.
While it is his decision to pick up or decline the player option, either the move is a $2 million dollar shortstop for the final month of the season or $16 million for a 30-year old shortstop with a fantastic defensive resume and a solid offensive resume on a one year deal.
He was a 15th round draft pick in 2012 and after six years in the minor leagues, he made his debut with Toronto on June 26, 2018 and in one of the better debuts in Blue Jays history, he went six innings, struck out three and allowed just two earned runs on six hits. Borucki started 17 games in total for the Blue Jays in that 2018 season, finishing with a 1.5 bWAR and looked like he might turn into a decent fourth or fifth starter.

The New Orleans Saints have released safety J.T.Gray, head coach Kellen Moore said on Monday. Gray, who joined the Saints in 2018 as an undrafted rookie free agent, was a special teams standout and team captain. He has been a first-team All-Pro Selection twice and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2021 as a special teamer.
The Angels announced that they have selected the contracts of infielder Scott Kingery and left-hander Mitch Farris with rosters expanding from 26 to 28 today. Additionally, infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor has been reinstated from the 10-day injured list and infielder Christian Moore has been optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake. To open 40-man spots for Kingery and Farris, outfielder Gustavo Campero and right-hander Carson Fulmer have been transferred to the 60-day IL. More to come.
The Braves are expected to activate ace lefty Chris Sale from the 60-day IL this weekend. The veteran southpaw has been sidelined since June due to a fracture in his ribcage, but prior to that he had been firmly in the conversation to win a second consecutive NL Cy Young award with a 2.52 ERA, a 2.69 FIP, and a 30.8% strikeout rate.
