Resident Evil Requiem surpassed six million copies sold in over two weeks, becoming the fastest-selling title in the franchise's history.
Publisher Konami and developer Bloober Team confirmed Thursday on their social media channels that Silent Hill 2 remake had reached 5 million players. The number doesn't strictly represent unit sales as it includes players accessing the game through subscription services.
Cairn has also entered Steam's Top Sellers chart and is currently on the eighth spot, behind the likes of Nioh 3, Arc Raiders, and Dead by Daylight. As per SteamDB charts, Cairn reached a peak concurrent player count of 14,996 over the weekend. At the time of writing, nearly 7,000 Steam users were in the game. PS5 sales figures for the game aren't available. On PC, Cairn is available via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
Battlestate Games controversially required that players re-purchase the game if they wanted to play it on Steam, even if they already purchased it directly from Battlestate. Escape from Tarkov also saw some controversy around its sales strategy when the studio revealed a $250 pre-order edition that unlocked access to an exclusive PVE mode, and other features that players called out as pay-to-win.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the acclaimed RPG from first-time developer Sandfall Interactive, has sold 4.4 million copies, according to staff members at the studio. Sandfall's official sales figure, however, still stands at 3.3 million units sold by the end of May. The game seems to have since sold over one million copies across supported platforms.
