People wrapped their arms around each other as they remembered Vanessa Whyte, 45, a vet originally from Co Clare, her son James, 14, and daughter Sara, 13.

I don't make my kids go to school the last couple days of school. I don't see the point. Most teachers would rather you keep your kids home anyway.

The burglar allegedly stole around $700, credit cards and a black bag from the school on 13 Church Ave. in three separate incidents dating back to Feb. 4.

The victim was described as stable and was receiving treatment at a nearby hospital, with no ongoing threat to the community despite the lack of a suspect.

As a mother, it's difficult to watch my child suffer from bullying or unfair treatment. I want to fight the battles for my son. Or, at the very least, let him play hooky from school so he won't have to face them.

"Melissa used to feel isolated and anxious, but since connecting with a supportive group of upperclassmen, she's found joy and comfort in her high school experience."
