Dublin Bus welcomes the decision by Siptu representatives to suspend the work-to-rule industrial action immediately, calling it a positive step towards resolving the dispute.
Siptu members are considering industrial action to protest the sale of Bord na Móna's waste management service, advocating for public ownership as a key to efficient waste management.
"Despite several soundbites from senior people in the government claiming that they fully support our members' pay claim, the same leaders refuse to give a mandate to the appropriate funding for department officials to address this long-standing issue," said Siptu sector organiser, Damian Ginley.
"Since the announcement on July 3 that this very profitable plant is to close fully by September 2026, SIPTU representatives have sought to work with management on alternatives that could maintain it in operation."
