Spencer Carbery will appear as a special guest analyst on ESPN during playoff coverage this weekend.
"I like to joke that I can kind of be a cross-checker for these teams," said Jeremiah, 48, who lives in El Cajon, where he once set San Diego records for passing yards and touchdowns at Christian High School. "So they'll call and say, 'Hey, where do you have this guy? What do you think of this player?'"
The Thunder have played 66 games this season with over 212.5 points scored, while the Suns have had 64 games exceeding that total. The two teams average a combined 231.5 points per game, which is 19.0 points more than the game's total of 212.5.
"It's the same as our sport: if you do a mistake, you cannot change it. I've always been a guy who sees opportunities, who sees the positives. I'm going to try to deliver my best point of view on each game, player, the tournament."
The top spot in the table - currently occupied by Zaglebie Lubin - has changed hands multiple times, and the top nine clubs in the 18-team division are currently separated by just eight points. The league's top scorers, Lechia Gdansk, are 11th in the table, while its best defence belongs to eighth-placed Wisla Plock - who are currently on a five-game losing streak.
'Prediction is too pompous a word for it. What we are doing here is called guessing. And whatever you do guess will be less fanciful and ridiculous than what actually happens.'
The highlight of that, of course, is the 12-team College Football Playoff, now in its second year. The five highest-ranked conference champions, plus the next seven highest-ranked teams, will make the field.
In the end it took a 54th-minute try by the scrum-half Alex Mitchell to save his side's blushes in an encounter that will sit uneasily with the management at this delicate stage of the trip.
