Of course, the expectations at Borussia Dortmund are significantly higher than at the other 16 Bundesliga clubs. I ask you: who, apart from Bayern Munich, consistently plays attractive football in the Bundesliga? And is attractiveness more important than success?

There have been so many world-class players to have represented the six countries since Italy's inclusion to the championship in 2000. Success also comes into the equation, and longevity and influence. In many ways, these are linked, yet it was important to also recognise the outstanding individual contributions of those even if their sides were not title winners. Balancing, say, the achievements of the great England team at the start of the 2000s with the later achievements of Wales, France and Ireland is tricky.
Effective collaboration isn't optional. Without it time, energy and resources are wasted. The frustration, resentment and dissatisfaction throughout the process also takes a toll on the team's mental health and well-being. They're discouraged from taking on work that requires collaborating with others and start preferring solo activities.
Sporting success is the foundation. This naturally creates a better feeling among the people in the country, and the connection between fans and team is positively charged.
