1 day agoRhode Island man finds exotic lizard while shoveling driveway
A South American tegu was unearthed from two feet of snow in Providence, suffering frostbite and weakness before receiving veterinary care.
Leaping lizards! A large lizard was spotted skittering around a city in central Maine Sunday evening, police there said. The reptile, believed to be a Tegu, was spotted in the area of Hillside Ave in Old Town. Its current location is unknown, the Old Town Police Department said in a Facebook post. Old Town police originally thought the creature was a monitor lizard - the same species as the lizard that was on the loose in Webster, Mass. earlier this month - but believe it's a Tegu after hearing from residents, the department said.
