Meta Platforms Inc. convinced a federal appeals court to certify a question about whether its terms of service and community standards created an obligation for the company to combat scam advertisements. Whether the terms of service and community standards impose a legally enforceable obligation on Meta is a question with substantial grounds for differing opinions, the US District Court for the Northern District of California said Thursday.

Despite changing its name and using decidedly bird-free branding, X is trying to hold on to its original Twitter trademarks, TechCrunch reports. The xAI-owned social media platform has updated its terms of service to include references to Twitter after previously only mentioning X, and seemingly attempted to counter a startup's petition to cancel the company's Twitter trademarks with a petition of its own.

What happened was this: Kimmel and his staff saw that Santos was on Cameo, which allows people to purchase short videos from various public figures with requested language. Usually it's something like "happy birthday" or "happy retirement." In the case of Kimmel and his writers, they set out to see if there was anything they couldn't get Santos to say on Cameo. For this to work, they obviously didn't disclose that it was Jimmy Kimmel Live! asking for the videos.
