Trading Standards Officers found a total of 115 out of date food items at two Asda stores in Cardiff, including some that were two weeks past expiry.

In a collaborative effort with the Met Police, Barnet Council's Trading Standards officers executed raids across seven stores and seized nearly £50,000 worth of illicit goods.

The closure of four shops selling illicit products, upheld by Bromley Magistrates' Court, highlights ongoing efforts by Bexley Council and police against illegal tobacco sales.

It comes following a counterfeit toy seizure that took place in Swansea during the Christmas period last year when thousands of toys were recovered from pop-up shops in the city centre.

"Given the repeated offences, the refusal to follow advice, the concealment of the illegal vapes to attempt to avoid detection and the willingness to sell them to a 15-year-old, I'm disappointed stiffer sentences weren't handed down."

A South London shop, Clapham Mobile X Vape, has been fined over £13,000 for selling illegal vapes containing harmful chemicals to children.
