The Berkeley Half Marathon is back again this weekend, and the city will be shutting down parking and travel lanes starting Saturday to accommodate the race course, which typically draws several thousand runners each year. Roads will stay open to vehicular traffic until at least 5 a.m. Sunday morning but the city will shut down four blocks around the finish line at Civic Center Park beginning Saturday morning.

So traffic delays could be significant Saturday with the U.S. military planning to fire live artillery rounds over Interstate 5 in Southern California. The freeway will be shut down temporarily Saturday afternoon along a 17-mile stretch of coastal northern San Diego County, just south of the border with Orange County.
