A new unease has gripped the German population, making itself felt around kitchen tables, in classrooms and in offices. Many are trying to imagine the unimaginable: a war in Europe, triggered by Russia, involving German soldiers, German sons and daughters, sent to the front to defend democracy.
Israel's missile strikes against Evin Prison in Tehran on June 23 resulted in the deaths of 79 people, including various visitors and staff. Alongside them, about 100 trans inmates were held in a section that was completely destroyed, and authorities now declare them missing and presumed dead.
With their red loafers and scarves and sashaying, it's almost like these men, by linking their arms and dancing their hearts out, are able to briefly erase the horrors that happened here.
