The trade deadline for the 2025-26 NHL season was Friday at 3 p.m. ET, and although several deals weren't announced until over an hour later, we can officially say that there won't be any more. It was quite a wild deadline week, including Nazem Kadri heading back to the Colorado Avalanche, John Carlson joining the Anaheim Ducks, and the Buffalo Sabres adding a trio of veterans in Logan Stanley, Luke Schenn and Sam Carrick.
The problem is those two banners both have 2015-16 displayed on them. While the Sharks won their first and only Western Conference title in 2015-16, they captured the President's Trophy during the 2008-09 season for finishing atop the NHL's regular season standings. In 2015-16, the Sharks, in their first season under then-coach Pete DeBoer, finished 11th in the overall standings with 98 points and a record of 46-30-6.
Eric Quill emphasized the need to return to the basics for improving FC Dallas' defense, stating they must concentrate on not conceding unnecessary goals.
Connor McDavid praised his team's collective effort in the series, stating, 'I thought we played well all five games, honestly. Everybody stepped up, everybody made contributions.'
