[Ja'Corey] Brooks is a long way from earning a spot on the 53-man roster, but he certainly helped his cause during the first two days of camp. Brooks isn't getting too excited about his start to camp, which is smart, because there are several more tests for him to take on. He'll have to maintain his production in the preseason as well as joint practices with the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens. Still, he should have his coaches' attention after what he did earlier in the week.
During a conversation with cornerback Marlon Humphrey and a strength coach this offseason, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins revealed that he sees a missing piece in the Ravens, and he believes he could be that addition, depending on Lamar Jackson's trust in him. His success largely hinges on how much faith Jackson places in him during tight window throws, where Hopkins excels.
"Not everybody can do that," Carolina wide receivers coach Rob Moore said of McMillan's acrobatic prowess. "That's what kind of separates him from a lot of other receivers in this class."
This offseason, Washington significantly enhanced their wide receiver capabilities by acquiring Deebo Samuel and drafting Jaylin Lane, aiming to maximize their on-field potential and mismatches.
Metcalf quickly fired off a "no," before adding that it didn't have to do with the Patriots themselves. "It's not a desirable place in my opinion."
