The next iPhone Air has reportedly been delayed
"Apple is no longer planning to launch a second-generation iPhone Air next fall and has "already sharply scaled back production of the first version," The Information reports. The company launched the super-thin version of the iPhone in September, but it seemingly hasn't proven to be a big hit, and Apple is now making some changes about its future."
"The new phone would also have gotten a vapor chamber, like the iPhone 17 Pro lineup this year. But with no second-generation iPhone Air, Apple's fall 2026 iPhone lineup will apparently consist of the iPhone 18 Pro and its foldable iPhone, while the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18E will launch in spring 2027. However, according to one of The Information's sources, Apple may still launch this new iPhone Air as soon as spring 2027."
Apple is no longer planning to launch a second-generation iPhone Air next fall and has already sharply scaled back production of the first version. The super-thin iPhone Air launched in September but has seemingly underperformed. A planned follow-up had aimed to be lighter, offer greater battery capacity, and include a vapor chamber similar to the iPhone 17 Pro models. With the second-generation Air shelved for fall 2026, the expected lineup will include the iPhone 18 Pro and a foldable iPhone. The iPhone 18 and 18E are slated for spring 2027, and the Air may arrive then.
