Reports indicated that Meta attempted to recruit employees from OpenAI and Google DeepMind by offering substantial compensation packages. OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman confirmed these reports in a podcast, revealing that offers included sign-on bonuses of around $100 million and large annual salaries. Despite the aggressive recruitment tactics, Altman expressed satisfaction that, so far, none of their top talent had chosen to leave OpenAI for these lucrative offers from Meta.
There have been huge offers to a lot of our team, like $100 million in sign-on bonuses, more than that in annual compensation.
